You dont need to be an expert to know the basics of design

By understanding a few key principles of design, your work will look and feel so much better. Here are three fundamental principles that I go by.

Start with one feature

When building a new page - start with one feature. If you are building a time tracking software - start with the time submission form.

Design one piece, and it will be easier to figure out what else needs to go into the page.

Use more white space than you think you need.

More white space is typically better than less white space. Use whites pace to group similar components, de-clutter your layouts and emphasize importance.

Don't overwhelm people with color.

Chose one primary color, one secondary color and one base color. Combine these three colors with 5 shades per color. You now have 15 colors to work with in your product.
